What is BetterHealth?
BetterHealth is an online healthcare service for Life Choice* customers to support you and your immediate family** in your health and wellbeing, helping you live life to the full.
One of the benefits of being a Life Choice* policyholder means you and your immediate family** can benefit from BetterHealth.
New Ireland has teamed up with Teladoc Health to provide a range of online services to you. This service will offer you support and care at a time when you need it most.
* Life Choice policyholder includes policyholders of Life Choice Home, Life Choice You and Family, Life Choice Assets.
** These services are available to Life Choice policyholders’ spouse/partner and dependants (under 18). Dependants cannot avail of Online Physiotherapy or Get Fit Programme.
BetterHealth services provides extra cover at no extra cost, this service supports a wide range of needs including:

Online Doctor consultation with an Irish registered doctor.

Mental Health Counselling from a psychologist.

Online Physiotherapy consultation from qualified Irish registered physiotherapists.

Get Fit Programme that includes personalised nutritional recommendations and an exercise plan designed by a team of nutritional experts.
Online Doctor
This service gives you and your immediate family** access to an online doctor. Simply request a consultation and a doctor will call you back. The doctor can help you with many medical conditions such as cold and flu symptoms, infections, anxiety, stress, allergies and provide advice on non-urgent medical conditions. The doctor can issue prescriptions if required.
This service enables you to ask any health-related questions to a doctor who is available to you Monday to Friday 8am to 8pm and Saturday to Sunday 9am to 12pm excluding bank holidays. You will receive a callback usually within 6 and 16 hours within service hours.
Mental Health Counselling
Do you need advice about your mental health and wellbeing? A psychologist can guide you in the right direction and give you a better understanding of your mental health condition, the treatment you need, as well as helping you to navigate the health system.
When requesting a consultation, specialists will assess your condition and then point you in the right direction for further support. This service is available to your immediate family**.
This service is available to you and your immediate family** Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm excluding bank holidays. You will receive a callback usually within 2 and 4 days within service hours.
Online Physiotherapy Consultation
Are you experiencing muscle pains or suffering from joint problems? A team of experienced physiotherapists use a holistic approach to help your recovery, combining physiotherapy, fitness, and emotional wellbeing for long-term improvements.
You’ll have access to a tailored rehabilitative exercise portal, which allows you to track your progress and recovery, working towards your desired goals.
This service is available to you and your immediate family** Monday to Friday 9am to 6pm excluding bank holidays. You will receive a callback usually within 2 and 4 days within service hours.
Get Fit Programme
You can join the Get Fit Programme and start the 4 or 8 week online healthy weight loss plan based on a balanced diet and a workout regime, designed by a team of specialists in nutrition. You will receive an email which outlines your programme.
BetterHealth is not an emergency service and below are examples of conditions that cannot be treated. If you are severely unwell, it’s advised you contact your local emergency services.
What is not treated: Chest pain, shortness of breath, severe abdominal pain, heavy bleeding, thoughts of suicide or self-harm, confusion, loss of consciousness, severe infection, severe pain, suspected stroke, seizures, pregnancy complications, high fever in unwell infant. This service isn’t intended to replace your doctor or any health professional or to be used for ongoing care.
How can you access BetterHealth?
How do my Life Choice* clients access BetterHealth?
Register for the service on the BetterHealth portal here. To access the service, you will need your Life Choice* policy number.
OR
Simply download the “BetterHealth from New Ireland” app from the App Store or Google Play. To access the service, you will need your Life Choice* policy number.

Internet and call charges may apply depending on your telecoms provider.
Please note: If you register for these services, you will be transferred to the BetterHealth service. BetterHealth services are provided by Teladoc Health, terms and conditions apply. New Ireland will only share your policy number with Teladoc Health for eligibility purposes. New Ireland will never have access to any personal data that you provide within the app or on the portal, Including biometric data to support app security on your device. Teladoc Health will process your information as a separate data controller. While these additional services from BetterHealth are presently available with your policy, New Ireland may need to restrict or withdraw access to the services at some time in the future.
