Q3 2022 began on a positive note and a welcome relief for many investors. Unfortunately this proved to be a short-lived reprieve and global equity markets are now back at levels of early June this year. Inflation, interest rates and global central bank actions have dominated Q3 headlines and the minds of investors over the quarter. Towards the end of the quarter, we also saw the UK fall into crisis.
In his latest Q3 2022 market review, Kevin Quinn, Chief Investment Strategist with Investment Markets, shares his view of what has happened and why. He explains why he now believes the era of “TINA” (There Is No Alternative (to equites)) may be behind us and the positive impact this may have for lower risk investors.
As we head into the final months of 2022, while Kevin expects market choppiness to persist, what Q3 2022 has reminded us is that markets can and will be quick to respond positively once the difficult news-flow starts to dissipate.
